As technologies can develop rapidly – as can organisations – my approach has always been to generalise first, then specialise as required. It is my ability to learn and adapt quickly that I trust and value the most.

Solutions Developer

I am a .NET Microsoft Desktop Certified Solution Developer and a .NET Web Solution Certified Developer, which includes certification in technologies such as MVC, MVVM, ASP.NET, HTML5, CSS3, threading, JQuery, JavaScript, WCF, WPF, LINQ, SQL Server, TDD, Entity Framework, and desktop and web solution architectures. I have twenty-four Microsoft Certifications.

Industry Experience

I have over thirty years’ experience in delivering solutions across a broad range of industries, including finance, telecommunications, education, public sector, engineering, and media. Financial sector experience includes investment banking, retail banking, asset management, and interdealer brokerage.

Broad Technical Expertise

I have designed and developed client and server-side applications and services, including WinForms, MVC, web forms, classic ASP, Excel automated systems, Windows services, server components, classic web services, and WCF services. I have developed and maintained intranets, extranets, as well as Internet sites. I have developed and maintained database solutions using SQL Server, Oracle, Access, and even dBase!

Technical Author

I have experience as a technical author and I am used to working closely with business users and business analysts, helping them gather and define business requirements. I have drafted, proofed and published user and technical manuals for hardware and software systems, written copy for promotional material and bids, and authored feasibility, system architecture, and support documentation.

My greatest strength is the ability to grasp new ideas and technologies quickly and to deliver the best solution these technologies offer. In addition, I have a strong analytical mind and proven written and spoken communication skills. I’ve worked with small teams, medium teams, and large teams for small, medium, and large corporations worldwide. I’m flexible and adaptable in my approach, determined, creative, and passionate in what I do. I love learning and I love helping people.
